| Overview: |
Join Barbara Dyer, president and CEO of The Hitachi Foundation, as she facilitates a conversation about the current state of corporate citizenship. Drawing from the Foundation's 2009 "State of Corporate Citizenship Report" - http://hitachifoundation.org/news/reports/socc_report_2009.html - Barbara will focus this session on a number of key findings, particularly on business' role in supporting skill development and the country's ability to help low-income individuals participate in the continuing economic recovery. What is the relevance of these findings in what has been deemed a "jobless" recovery? What is philanthropy's role? How do the experiences of the foundation and corporate giving communities in San Diego mirror those of the national philanthropic landscape? This interactive session will dive more deeply into these questions and engage attendees in a rich give and take.
