There’s no denying that employee engagement and corporate giving are alive and well in corporate America. Today, more than ever, companies are often judged by consumers on where they stand on social, environmental, and political issues. Some of the most well-known CEOs have expressed higher callings for corporations. For instance, Marc Benioff from Salesforce asserts, "To be truly successful, companies need to have a corporate mission that is bigger than making a profit.” Despite the pervasive gospel that doing good is good for business, corporations big and small are still facing an uphill battle to make a business case for investing in employee engagement and corporate giving programs.

This learning lab, which is designed for corporate members, addresses two key questions:

  • What is the ROI of employee engagement and corporate giving?
  • How do you measure it (ROI) in your company?

Amanda Goldberger, founder and president of IMPACT Strategies San Diego, will lead an interactive discussion on these two related questions. Amanda is an expert in strategic, high-impact philanthropy. She has spent over a decade helping families, foundations, and corporations make smarter giving decisions in order to realize a better world. Recent corporate client includes Genentech and TJX. Prior to IMPACT Strategies, Amanda was strategy consultant at FSG, a nonprofit mission-driven consulting firm where she led projects with leading foundations, corporations, and nonprofits. Her clients included SAP, Schwab, Rockefeller Foundation, Meyer Memorial Trust, and New York Academy of Sciences.

This program is part of the Corporate Philanthropy series and is designed for those who work in corporate philanthropy and other invited guests as appropriate. All event registrations are reviewed to determine eligibility. We respectfully request that attendees refrain from engaging in fundraising and other development activities at all SDG events.
