The Governor’s Office of Planning and Research California Complete Count team for Census 2020 invites you to a regional convening to help build your community’s capacity to achieve a complete count during the 2020 Census. This meeting will bring together local leaders in hard to count (HTC) areas. Attendees will learn about Census 2020 state and federal efforts, available mapping and demographic data, and hear from experts about anticipated complete count challenges. Attendees will have the opportunity to form partnerships, identify necessary resources, and begin strategizing an effective outreach strategy.

Your completion of a short 19 question online Organizational Readiness Assessment Survey in advance of the Regional Convening Meeting is extremely appreciated! You will find more information about the survey, agenda, and meeting materials below. Readiness Assessment Survey: www.surveymonkey.com/r/CensusRCSanDiego

California Complete Count is holding 24 convenings across the state from April to August 2018. The information gathered at these convenings, including community needs, will be incorporated into the Statewide Outreach Strategy and will inform the development and dissemination of useful tools and tactics.

Please join key community leaders and organizations from your area whose voices are needed to ensure a complete count. Representatives from children/youth services, community-based, community resource centers, disabled, education, faith-based, health services, immigrant, labor/union, libraries, local government, non-profit, philanthropic, rural, senior, seasonal farmworkers, and social services organizations are invited to attend.

Please register as soon as possible as seating is limited. Remember to monitor your inbox for upcoming convening information. Event sign-in will start at 8:30 am and the main program will begin at 9:00 am.

If you have access or functional needs, please contact Alex Cole-Weiss ([email protected] or 916.278.5871) by July 3 at 5pm.

ONLINE PRE-MEETING SURVEY

Your completion of a short 19 question online Organizational Readiness Assessment Survey in advance of the Regional Convening Meeting is extremely appreciated! This survey is an initial effort to gather important baseline information and stimulate partner thinking on existing capacity and resource needs. Your input will provide essential information to develop the California Complete Count Statewide Outreach and Communication Strategy (SOCS). Once completed, the California Complete Count staff will share the strategy with attendees of the upcoming Regional Convenings, including tailored approaches for micro-targeted outreach in specific regions. Thank you in advance for your confidence and support.
