San Diego Grantmakers and United Way of San Diego County invite regional funders to join this exclusive lunch to discuss strategies to ensure that our next Governor is an early childhood advocate.  On January 6, Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s (SVCF) Vice President and Director of the Center for Early Learning, Avo Makdessian, will discuss planned strategies, partnership opportunities, answer questions, and solicit feedback and guidance from luncheon attendees.

SVCF is launching an ambitious non-partisan effort to educate and inform California’s gubernatorial candidates on the importance and value of investing in the state’s youngest children.  Over the next two years, SVCF -- along with funders and organizations across the state -- will engage in a strategic communications initiative that ensures California’s next governor, whomever is elected, is a champion of children from the first day he or she enters office.
