According to the 2019 Edelman Trust Barometer 74% of people in the US agree that “a company can take specific actions that BOTH increase profits and improve the economic and social conditions in the communities where it operates.” And yet many important stakeholders within our organizations view our corporate philanthropy as charity or “giving back”, rather than an opportunity for strategic investment.

Supporting organizations with a clear and strategic connection to your business and to your overall corporate citizenship is the key to educating stakeholders on the “win-win” potential of authentic investments in social impact.

Join us as we explore how ensuring your corporate giving strategy is aligned with your company’s broader business strategy and stakeholder interests can improve the effectiveness of your work and the authenticity of your communications. In this workshop, we will consider ways to sharpen your strategy so that you can demonstrate that giving is more than “the right thing to do”, but something that’s integral to the business.  Participants will learn a proven framework for assessing and articulating the business value of social investment from the point of view of a variety of internal stakeholders.

This gathering is the third in San Diego Grantmakers' Quarterly Corporate Luncheon Series. It is designed for those who work in corporate philanthropy and other invited guests as appropriate. All event registrations are reviewed to determine eligibility. We respectfully request that attendees refrain from engaging in fundraising and other development activities at all SDG events.
