San Diego is one of the leading high-tech hubs in the U.S., and its life science and technology-driven health innovations are key industry anchors. Deal Flow: Health & Wellness is an event designed to showcase investment-ready products, services, projects or ideas within this health and wellness sector that also have a little something extra…

What makes Deal Flow: Health & Wellness unique is that these will be impact investment opportunities – in other words, they must generate positive health and wellness benefits to society in addition to financial returns for their investors.

In finance, “deal flow” refers to the rate at which business and investment proposals are received. This event aims to increase deal flow for impact investing by bringing together several vetted and coached organizations to present their health and wellness impact investment opportunities to a panel of experts and an audience that includes potential investors. Among the criteria to be evaluated are the strength of the presenting team, the value proposition, business model, governance, and validation of the model.

While there will not be a final "winner" or financial awards, there will be an opportunity for investors and philanthropists to connect and learn from one another.*

  • Aira: By developing technology that connects the blind with a network of certified agents via wearable smart glasses and an augmented reality dashboard, Aira helps users accomplish a wide range of daily activities.
  • Archi's Acres: As a result of healthy food delivery; education and employment support for veterans; and sustainable hydro-organic farming practices, Archi's Acres benefits the local economy, community, and environment.
  • Kitchens for Good: Through innovative programs in workforce training, healthy food production, and social enterprise, Kitchens for Good breaks the cycles of food waste, poverty, and hunger.
  • Spiral Therapy: Spiral Therapy utilizes 3D imaging and a digitized, scalable model that crowd-sources physical therapy recommendations to make treatment more accessible, consistent, and convenient, and reduce dependence on opioids while cutting down healthcare costs.
