Do you want to learn how to invest in companies, organizations, and funds that create social and environmental benefits, while generating a financial return?

Join Robert Foster, San Diego Grantmakers' Director of Impact Investments, for an interactive lecture that will demystify the complexities of impact investing and provide context for why it’s important now more than ever to support innovations that address human and environmental needs.

Robert's experience includes serving as the COO of ZipCap, a San Diego-based impact fintech company and as the Executive Director of Accelerating Market-driven Partnerships (AMP), an international impact investing initiative launched in collaboration with the U.S. Secretary of State, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Aspen Institute, and Fortune 100 companies.

Impact Investing 101 is the first in our seven-part Fundamentals Series, with Spring and Fall semesters. Next in Spring is Member Orientation 101 in April, Grantmaking 101 in May, and “How to: Collaborations” in June; Fall semester includes Advocacy 101 in September, Evaluation 101 in October, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion 101 in November (dates forthcoming). Whether you are new to philanthropy and eager to learn best-practices, or a seasoned professional committed to continuing education and ultimately advancing your leadership in the philanthropic field, these sessions will provide opportunities to establish and/or deepen your skills and your relationships with colleagues and peers.
