In San Diego, African-Americans represent just 6% of our general population, yet 24% of our population experiencing homelessness. Despite plethora of programs and structures designed to prevent and end homelessness, the data is clear: People of color disproportionately experience homelessness. To truly end homelessness in San Diego, we must first understand and then seek to change the systems that perpetuate racial inequity and homelessness.

Join Funders Together to End Homelessness San Diego, a collaborative of San Diego Grantmakers, for a conversation with homelessness and equity expert Amanda Andere, CEO of the national Funders Together to End Homelessness network, as she applies learnings and successes she’s experienced at a national level of the role philanthropy can play in advancing racial equity within the homeless service sector to our San Diego region.
