This is a meeting of the Binational Migration Funders, a collaboration faciliated by San Diego Grantmakers.

In April, the group will advance its learning agenda around:

  • Narrative & Communications
    • Goal: (1) Contribute to redefining the dominant narrative about migrants and refugees in the United States, Mexico, and Central America through a multi-platform communications strategy
    • Goal (2): Develop multi-sector communications tools including a centralized location to access data and stories about the experience, policies, practices, and resources in the United States, Mexico, and Central America
  • Funding
    • Goal: Increased and sustained funding for organizations in the United States and Mexico that is responsive to needs as they shift over time and takes advantage of the wide variety of areas that funders focus.
  • Integration
    • Goal: San Diego and Imperial Counties and Tijuana are welcoming communities for all immigrants and remain so over time.
  • Policy & Advocacy
    • Goal: Policies at all levels of government (federal, state and local) and permanent infrastructure in the United States and Mexico that meets the needs of all immigrants.
