We believe that we can end homelessness, and philanthropy plays a critical role.

San Diego is at a key juncture to significantly reduce homelessness. We have a transformative new leader of our San Diego Regional Task Force on the Homeless, Gordon Walker, who was instrumental in reducing chronic homelessness in Utah by 91%. Meet Mr. Walker and hear his vision and plan for reducing homelessness in San Diego.  Learn about the important role of funders in aligning resources to support effective programs and a system to end homelessness.

Gordon Walker, CEO, San Diego Regional Task Force on the Homeless

In June, the San Diego Regional Task Force on the Homeless (RTFH) was delighted to announce Gordon D. Walker as their new chief executive officer. Mr. Walker most recently served as director of Utah’s Division of Housing and Community Development where he gained national attention for his efforts to reduce homelessness. Previously, Mr. Walker served as deputy undersecretary for the Department of Housing and Urban Development during the Reagan administration. He holds an MBA degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and received his undergraduate degree in economics from Brigham Young University.
