POSITION SUMMARY: United Way of San Diego County (UWSD) seeks an innovative and dynamic leader to serve as its Directorof Process Design. Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Chief Impact Officer, the Director has the responsibility for the strategic and operational leadership of community impact efforts in early childhood, youth success and family stability. In partnership with a dedicated staff and external partners, the Director of Process Designwill further the organization’s work in convening and facilitation, research and evaluation, process design, effective practices, fundraising, advocacy and policy. This is done by aligning and leveraging resources and efforts that will transform systems and address inequities in our region.The Director of Process Design will supervise and develop staff/teamsand inform executive management on progress and performance. He/She must have a broad knowledge of project/program management principles and a strategic mindset.The goal is to ensure that each initiative is executed successfully and adds the highest possible value to the organization.

How we do our work: Using the framework and principles of Collective Impact, UWSD works with nonprofits, school districts, businesses, government and the community to ensure that all children and youth – ages 0-24 – are ready for kindergarten, graduate high school and ready for college and or career. UWSD supports this work via Research and Evaluation; Convening and Facilitation; Effective Practices and Process Design; Funding Resources; and Policy.
