Request for Qualifications for Racial Justice Dialogue

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and the wake of the most recent violence against Black individuals, the time is ripe to consider our actions and influence. San Diego Grantmakers seeks to offer a space to examine the historic and current role of philanthropy and investment in social inequity and white supremacy - and the many ways we can contribute to building an equitable region for all. SDG seeks to partners with a consultant or a consultant team to design and facilitate one or more conversations for SDG members to share how they are processing and responding to racial violence, deepen their understanding of systemic racism, and explore the role of philanthropy in this moment and beyond.

Deliverables:

  • Final session design and agenda.
  • Facilitate conversation(s) for SDG members to share how they are processing and responding to racial violence, deepen their understanding of systemic racism, and explore the role of philanthropy in this moment and beyond. 
  • As needed, meetings with staff to debrief participants’ experiences and feedback, and ways to ensure subsequent programming is responsive to participants’ emerging needs.

Timeline: This will adapt, but is aimed at: planning and implementation in Quarters 3 and/or 4, 2020.

Experience with Philanthropy Serving Organizations, movement building organizations and/or networked models a plus.

The lead staff will be Megan Thomas, Vice President of Collaboration and Special Initiatives.

Budget: $1,500-$2,500 per session.
